   WHO AM I

I am a native Montanan who answered my calling to be a teacher seven years ago.  Many different jobs have contributed to the experiences I bring to the classroom.  I believe in helping students be as successful as they can be and finding ways to make the math classroom a fun place to learn.  For several years I worked in the hardware and industrial supply industry.  Northwest Montana has been home for many years on and off and now my dog, Bridgeit and I are prod to call Buhl Idaho "home".

My teaching philosophy is to help the community of Wakapa to become life long learners and better problem solvers.  This will be accomplished using a variety of different strategies but the key ingredient to succeeding is to try.  I  give the majority of my credit in my class from students being able to show they understand the concepts.  Students are encouraged to take ownership of their own learning and we review homework when assigned but it is not graded. I want to see that the student has the concept not just the right answer.  I try to be a very open with my students so please encourage them to talk to me if they have concerns or if you as parents do.
